Y’all, I am not a hiker.
But I run a hiking blog?
Do you ever feel like you hike but are not REALLY a hiker?
I feel this all the time.
If you’re part of any facebook groups that are hiking for women, it can be easy to be intimidated. SOOO many women are doing thru hikes, 2 week backpacking trips, a weekend alone in the woods.
I’ve done NONE of these things.
I aspire to them but as of right now…
But you know what?
You don’t have to do these things to be a REAL hiker.
Do you hike?
You’re a hiker. Period. End of conversation.
Being ONLY a day hiker is OK. You’re still a hiker.
Don’t fool yourself.
On a day hike, you can still see amazing places that 90% of people never will.
Most people will never see that gorge.
Most people will never see that waterfall.
Most people will never see those arches.
You may not feel special but you are.
Keep going for no one other than yourself!
Be a proud day hiker!
P.S. I just signed up for my first overnight at a state park in October!
